Welcome to Springfield Bellydance
a bellydance school beyond borders
  • Our belly dance classes are designed to challenge and strengthen the body, and we have created a warm, welcoming environment for everyone. No matter your age, shape, size or background, you will feel at home in our classes.
That is our promise to our students.
  • Using the dances of the Middle East as our basis, we encourage our students to explore those dance styles and more.
We call our teaching techniques "style neutral," meaning that Oriental dancers can work alongside tribal style dancers or fusion dancers in our classes, and all of them can learn belly dance technique that will strengthen their form.
  • We take a broad approach, delving into the specifics of Egyptian, Persian, Turkish or Lebanese styles of dance, but also bringing in the influences of American Tribal Style, Tribal Fusion, Dark Fusion and others. Our dancers are diverse in their particular styles of belly dance, but they all have one thing in common: strong technique.

Springfield Bellydance Academy is also home to two performing dance companies: Evolution Dance Company and Pacha Mamma Dance Company.

  • Evolution is our principal performing troupe comprised of our most highly trained dancers. Evolution members dance in a variety of styles and group choreographies including traditional belly dance numbers as well as innovative, break-the-mold pieces that fuse elements of the traditional with the avant garde. Renowned choreographer Brittney Laleh has created some of belly dance's most memorable, most beautiful choreographies for this dance company.
  • Pachamama is a dance troupe open to our beginning students and is designed to give students a broad experience with Middle Eastern dance. From Saidi to ATS and back again, students will get a taste of the vast array of dances the academy strives to teach.

So whether you're looking to start learning to belly dance, or whether you've been dancing and want to strengthen your technique, we want to see you in class!
