Welcome
to our classes! We are pleased to be part of your life, and even more
pleased you've chosen to explore the wonderful world of belly dance.

To get started, please arrive to class five or ten minutes early. We will
ask you to fill out a basic student information form so we know how to
reach you and so we'll know a little bit about you.

Please wear dance pants, yoga pants or other comfortable, moveable pants
or capris. Shorts are OK, but sometimes we get on our knees and our floors
have hard surfaces, so you may want to protect the skin on your legs a
little.
As for tops ‹ please wear something that will let us see your midriff
movements. You don't need to bare your belly, but if you want to, that
is certainly OK. You can wear a close-fitting tank or t-shirt that is
comfortable to move in, but please no large, baggy t-shirts. We will need
to see what your abdominal muscles are doing in order to make sure you
are performing the movements correctly and so that you avoid injury.
You can dance in bare feet; in fact that is preferred, but if you'd like
to protect your feet with an inexpensive pair of ballet slippers or other
dance shoes, that is OK, too. Just be sure they are comfortable and fit
you well enough not to cause blisters or other pain.

Our studio has water available for purchase, though it is a good idea
to bring your own bottle of water or power drink. You may also want to
bring a towel in case you get sweaty, and a notebook in case you want
to make notes after class. We typically don't have time during class to
stop for note-taking, but you can jot things down afterward. You can bring
a yoga mat for floor exercises if you like, but it is not necessary.

Contact Brittney,
837-9439 or Karen,
576-1170 if you have questions, and above all BE PREPARED TO HAVE
FUN! WE'LL SEE YOU THERE!
